Age is checked against 1 August 2026. Use the inclusive date-of-birth range for your post and category; age in completed years alone can miss the boundary-day rule.

Use the cutoff, not today’s date

The 2026 notice measures age on 1 August 2026. For 18–27 posts the unrelaxed birth-date window is 2 August 1999 through 1 August 2008; for 20–30 it is 2 August 1996 through 1 August 2006; for 18–30 it is 2 August 1996 through 1 August 2008; for 18–32 it is 2 August 1994 through 1 August 2008 (§5.1).

OBC permits 3 years and SC/ST 5 years beyond the upper limit (§5.2). EWS has no separate age concession in that table. Special service and disability concessions require individual review. Never add concessions together without checking the notice.
