What graduation percentage is required for SSC CGL?

The general bachelor’s-degree requirement in §8.4 does not specify a common minimum graduation percentage. Post-specific qualifications still apply. For JSO, one route requires at least 60% in Class-12 Mathematics; the alternative is Statistics as a subject at degree level (§8.2).

Is 60% in Class 12 compulsory for every SSC CGL post?

No. Do not confuse the JSO Mathematics route with an overall Class-12 percentage rule for every post. That route specifies 60% in Mathematics, not 60% overall. A degree and the relevant post qualifications remain necessary.

Can a final-year student use the eligibility checker?

Yes, for planning. For the 2026 cycle, the required qualification must be possessed by 1 August 2026. Select “Not sure” if the degree result or evidence is uncertain; using the tool does not establish qualification.

A degree must be obtained by the qualification cutoff

The degree result must have been declared by 1 August 2026. Being in the final year alone does not establish the qualification. Check recognition and equivalence against §8.

JSO requires a bachelor’s degree with at least 60% in Mathematics at Class 12, or a bachelor’s degree with Statistics as a degree-level subject. Statistical Investigator Grade-II accepts the fields listed in §8.3, which differ from older cycles.

State-cadre Assistant Audit/Accounts Officer posts also require the specified regional-language proficiency and secondary-level certificate. Desirable qualifications are not treated as mandatory. The mandatory examination during probation described in the notice should be understood separately.

Statistical Investigator degree subjects

Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Demography, Population Studies, Operations Research, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Technology, Computer Applications, Data Science or Artificial Intelligence. Check §8.3 of the notice.
